Han So Hee in Gyeongseong Creature

The director of “Gyeongseong Creature” named Jang Dong Yoon underwent an interview with local media on Wednesday (10/1). One of the things the director discussed was the details of the incident when Han So Hee was injured on the set of the Netflix drama.

The director revealed that So Hee was injured during the chaining scene. In “Gyeongseong Creature”, Japanese soldiers are seen chaining Yoon Chae Ok (So Hee) before a monster appears in front of her. When filming that scene, So Hee and the director were quite far apart.

“I lost my mind. Suddenly there was a ‘thump’ sound, I couldn’t get closer. It could be seen on the monitor that she was injured. It was the scene where she was tied with a chain and struggled before meeting the mother monster,” said director Dong Yoon.

The director of “Gyeongseong Creature” added, “While trying to break free from the iron chains, she kicked them so hard that she was hit in the face instead. That was the result of her sincere efforts in her acting.”

The director revealed that So Hee felt guilty on the set of “Gyeongseong Creature”, even though she was injured. “After Han So Hee was injured, she apologized for not being able to continue filming, expressing regret for the incident,” continued the director.

So Hee was immediately taken to the hospital because of her condition. “Even after returning, she shot well. It was definitely not easy to immerse herself emotionally, but as an actress, she did very well,” concluded the director.

It is known that So Hee suffered an eye injury while filming “Gyeongseong Creature”. When attending a drama press conference in December 2023, So Hee expressed her guilt because she was hurt by the effects of her greed when acting.

“It happened because I was greedy. I failed to differentiate between what I could and couldn’t do. I thought I could avoid injury if I did it differently. It’s not like I was deliberately sacrificing my body. It’s very disappointing that (this incident) has affected filming process, and I feel sorry,” concluded So Hee.
