Blackpink Lisa

On Wednesday (6/12), it was officially announced that BLACKPINK had extended their contract with their agency, YG Entertainment. When this news reached the ears of Chinese fans, all the girl group members except Lisa immediately trended on Weibo.

After negotiations that took quite a long time, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa finally extended their contracts with YG for group activities. This has also become a topic of discussion for Chinese fans and netizens on Weibo.

BLACKPINK’s contract extension with YG topped the trending entertainment topics on the Weibo platform. On forums, BLACKPINK fans in China expressed their excitement, as well as sharing various photos and expressing their anticipation and praise for the girl group’s possible future comeback.

Thousands of comments posted showed the names Jisoo, Jennie, and Rose, but it was difficult to find Lisa’s name. This shows that Lisa is still “shadowbanned” and criticized in China following the controversy over her appearance in Crazy Horse Paris.

Early last November, Lisa’s Weibo account was first banned from posting, then deleted. When fans visited the idol’s account, they only saw an announcement that said, “This account cannot be accessed due to reported violations of laws, regulations, and Weibo community agreements.”

The reason Lisa was “banned” in China is believed to be because of her appearance in the Crazy Horse cabaret in France. It is known that China strictly prohibits the promotion of performances that contain sexual elements, are inappropriate and go against traditions. As a result, Lisa received a lot of criticism and was even “shadowbanned” in that country.
